Begun as the Selmene Winter Foundation in 1922, the Child Research Council was formed upon reorganization and reincorporation in 1927. In 1928 it became affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The Council conducted the first multidisciplinary longitudinal study of child growth, known as the "Denver study" which extended from the 1927 through 1966 and studied 334 subjects. Pediatrician and Director, Child Research Council, University of Colorado (1930-1960). The Child Research Council conducted a very important study of child growth. This study, which is commonly referred to as the Denver Study, began in 1927 and may have been the first long term multidisciplinary study of child growth and development.
